Ibiza's been a magnet for artists for many years now. Maybe it's the light, maybe the laid back lifestyle, maybe something in the water, who knows? Whatever it is that draws them (pun intended) there are hundreds of artists of all descriptions working on the island who have gathered together to form the Art Club of Ibiza.
Every year the Art Club publishes a guide featuring the works and whereabouts of all its members scattered all over the island – La Ruta del Arte (The Art Route) – and this year its launch will be followed by an exhibition of their works in the Congress Palace in Santa Eulalia.
The launch is tomorrow, 22nd May at 20.00, and the exhibition will be open daily from 17.00 to 21.00 until the end of the month. It's well worth visiting as you'll be able to see art in many different styles – here's a recent work from one of the members, Bamboo, to whet your appetite.
If you can't get to the exhibition, you'll have a chance to see many of the artists' works in the regular Art Sundays (Domingo del Arte) which take place monthly in different villages all over the island.
