Things to do this month on Ibiza - February 2018

Great ways to pass your time on Ibiza this month.

We love carnival time on Ibiza. The whole island takes part, with every town having its own parade. Colourful costumes, happy people cheering and waving and devilish dance displays - sign me up! For a bit of serene calm, go and see the almond trees in flower. Seeing them by moonlight is a magnificent sight to behold, a February highlight in fact. Enjoy this month's selection and see you back next month.

It's carnival time!

Carnival is back in the towns of Ibiza where everyone takes to the streets to watch the amazing themed floats pass by in the Rua de Carnaval parade. See scores of kids decked out like the Lion King or catch a multitude of Minions dancing in the streets. It's Ibiza's very own small slice of Rio. Final start times are still being finalised, though mark your diary for 10-13 February and check out our events' calendar for details as they come in.

Dig the beat

Balearic beatmaster, Ten Ibiza, is doing its own carnival side-event on 10 February at STK in Marina Botafoch from midnight. Delicious Deep House, Funky and House grooves from the likes of Graham Sahara, Roberto Navarro, Oriol Calvo and Tallyn P will keep his party swinging to the early hours.

450 years of Puig d'en Missa

Santa Eulalia's church Puig de Missa is 450 years this year and its annual February fiesta is making it a centrepiece of celebrations with music, painting competitions and more. On the 11th Rock'n'Bars sees live bands all over the town centre, with bars and restaurants doing cheap tapas and drinks offers. Woo hoo! Keep an eye on our events' calendar where we'll be adding more details on the events in this month-long fiesta.

Let the almond flowers bloom

Ibiza's almond trees are blooming marvellously: the pink white blossom of this noble tree can be seen all across the island, thanks to an unseasonably warm January. Santa Inés is one of the best places to see it: either a carpet of pretty pink by day or a supernatural white glow by the light of the full moon. Go from today up to 4 February or wait for the next full moon cycle in the days around 1 March.

Eating out is never hard to do

Eating out is a pleasure in Ibiza and the island really wants to show that winter has great food offers at inexpensive prices. Patrimoni Gastonomic brings you three-course menus from around the world in Ibiza Town. Over in Santa Eulalia Gastrojueves, taking place each Thursday evening, sees more than a dozen restaurants offering all food dishes half price. Yum!

Authentic sounds in Talamanca

IbizaClubHouse is the place to meet and dance this winter. Sporting a humdinger of an analogue sound system, expect this compact club to serve you cool tunes with love. It's all about the authentic sounds here. Music as art curated by a set of funky DJs. It's on from 23:00 every Saturday from 11 February. Can't make that date? The venue is open from Wednesday to Saturday.
