Pacha Festival Amsterdam celebrates fifth birthday

The dance music festival is on the move in 2016 with a new Dutch location.

Amsterdam's imported dance music extravaganza, Pacha Festival, is celebrating its fifth year and the first batch of names footing the line-up are out the bag. The festival is on the move in 2016 from its previous Java Eiland location to greener pastures at Arena Park, springing up right next to the Heineken Music Hall and the Amsterdam Arena.

The much-loved global club brand will arrive on Dutch soil on 3rd September after another jam-packed festival season. Two Pacha Ibiza residencies have already been confirmed with My House, the creation of French sensation Martin Solveig, making its first appearance at the festival after a sell-out edition at 2015's ADE, and Insane, the club's underground tech house and techno party, back after storming last year's festivities. Also included on the line-up so far is ANOTR, Benny Rodrigues, Claptone, Cassy, Darius Syrossian, Franky Rizardo, Hannah Wants, Karotte, Klingande, Mark Knight, Prunk, Sander Kleinenberg, Todd Terry and UMEK.

With new terrain comes expansion, so this year the popular Ibiza hippie market and food village (including a sushi pop up restaurant) will also be setting up shop. It's an 11-hour festival session, kicking off from noon, so a pit-stop for a mouthful of delicious, homemade grub while you ponder over wardrobe additions might be necessary. Another advantage is that the new spot is more centrally located making it much easier to get yourselves there to celebrate its fifth year in action.

The Dutch are a top bunch for enjoying a savage session, so if Holland isn't already your home country, consider paying a visit.
