On Wednesday morning we attended the official press meeting of this high-energy event presented by Danny Sanz, General Director of the event's organising team; Danny León, professional skater and one of the Red Bull athletes taking part; Nil Ojeda, popular content creator and designer of one of the course's obstacles; and Catiana Fuster, representing Ibiza Town Council.
The high-energy Red Bull Ibiza Royale obstacle race will take place from 7 to 9 April and will see 200 mixed-gender teams from 50 countries compete on the cobbles in an epic four-day challenge. To do so, they'll battle through mind-bending obstacles that test speed, strength, balance, and reaction - all against the breathtaking backdrop of Ibiza's UNESCO-listed Old Town. Spectators will watch on agog as they try to pull off daring climbs, suffer unexpected tumbles and twists, and laughs a-plenty!
The teams will be selected through a qualification process and must be prepared not only to demonstrate their physical endurance but also to tackle the race with a great sense of humour and a strong spirit of collaboration.
The best of the best will make it to the Grand Final on April 13, where spectators can cheer them on live as they take on 8 to 9 never-before-seen obstacles designed by Red Bull athletes and top creators from the worlds of esports, X games, HYROX and cutting edge emerging sports such as parkour. But this isn't just about brute force—strategy, teamwork, and a sense of humor will be just as crucial to making it across the finish line!
As one of the event's organisers put it: “This is more of an experience than a hardcore competition. There's a competitive element, sure, but it's also about teamwork, surprises, and having a blast.”
So, are you ready to run, jump, scramble, and laugh your way through history? This is Ibiza like you've never seen it before!
