For those of us lucky to live in Ibiza, one of the finest pleasures is to put on the trusty walking boots and get out and explore the island on foot. The island's coastline and forests are criss-crossed by many well-marked and well-trodden trails, leading to some jaw-dropping viewpoints and stunning scenery.
Embracing the great outdoors for the past decade has been Walking Ibiza - a group of hiking lovers who have spread their love for Ibiza's hidden secrets to a generation of explorers. Over the years, the team has created a selection of great trails, with varying levels of difficulty, for those who like to be guided on a walk and to benefit from the leader's excellent local knowledge.
10 years ago, on the 10/10/10, founder of the group Toby set off with just €1 in his pocket and walked around the entire coastline of Ibiza alone with his dog Cosmo. Now, exactly 10 years on, you are invited to join in the celebrations of this remarkable achievement and the 10th Anniversary of Walking Ibiza.
This week, the team are organising 10 special morning walks, spread over 2 days, each followed by a celebration lunch in San Matteo: 5 walks on 9 October and 5 more on 10 October. Due to the COVID regulations, each group is limited to only 10 persons, so sign up quick if you want to celebrate with the gang.
On Friday 9 October you can join the following walks:
- Mindful walk: Salt of the Earth (Salinas) with Ankhana
- Short & Sweet walk: Ibiza Henge (Cala Comte) with Sheila
- Classic walk: Atlantis (Cala d'Hort) with Tim
