Everyone knows summer in Ibiza sees the island full with tourists from around the world. The island is perhaps at its most peaceful in winter and one of the best times to appreciate the beauty of the place. This year British Airways has increased its direct flights from London by 50% due to a spike in demand of people wanting to visit Ibiza all year round.
British Airways is operating daily flights now from London's City Airport for those Brits that want to escape winter in the UK in favour of the milder climate of the White Isle. Flights will run until March after which the summer schedule will start to come into effect. Flight schedules for these flights can be found here and you can go direct to the BA website to book online. Prices start at €73 and go up to €112 each way according to pricing obtained from the airline company this week.
The island Consell also has a strong desire to make Ibiza an all-year-round destination and there is a still a good range of things to do in the winter. A good number of restaurants remain open and clubs like Pacha and Pikes open at weekends. For the more adventurous, some of the organised walks allow you to discover the island without the searing heat of summer bearing down. The winter markets and many shops are open too meaning you can still get great gifts to take home.
There are also direct flights available from the big hubs like Madrid and Barcelona, so wherever you are in the world, there is still the possibility to get here by stopping over at these big Spanish cities. The more demand there is, the more likely it will be for other countries to add direct flights.
We say what are you waiting for? Come and discover the wonder that is Ibiza in winter.
