Talamanca is just 2km from the centre of cosmopolitan Ibiza Town, a mere 10-15 minute stroll from Marina Botafoc and Pacha, and this really influences its truly international character.
With just short of a kilometre of soft, pale yellow sand and shallow, crystal clear water, this Ibiza beach has style and a feeling of exclusivity, of being-in-the-know.
You'll find a refreshing mix of clientele enjoying its stunning beauty: from groups of cool Italian fashionistas, tanned within an inch of their lives to romantic couples and families. It is fair to say though that Talamanca is more adult orientated with the beach's facilities reflecting this.
It's fringed with a wonderful selection of beach bars and restaurants. Some packed with locals, such as Bar Flotante on the corner by Hotel Argos (a popular and affordable spot for breakfast) and some very high end, such as the beautiful Harbour Club. Think entire walls of vintage wine, uber-cool luxury and jaw-droppingly beautiful, contemporary design.
I happened to be passing their opening party at the time of writing *grin* and was first treated to a chilled but deliciously funky DJ set from much-loved Ibiza resident Howard Hill (regularly seen gracing the decks at Sands and Pikes Hotel).
This was followed by a wonderful live, acoustic music performance, with cello, saxophone, guitar and silky smooth vocals. Pure culture and class.
And pizza lovers, heads up. The Ristorante Italiano Pizzeria, about 20 metres along from Hostal Talamanca has possibly the best pizzas this writer has ever tasted (try the salami, mmm!)
There's a thoughtfully provided wooden walkway (saving you burning your tootsies on the often hot-as-toast sand) that stretches almost the entire length of the beach. And if you're an active beach type, you can take advantage of the excellent volleyball nets and a very cool variety of watersports. Check out our flyboarding review for example if you really fancy some adrenaline!
As you make your way down this calm and peaceful Ibiza beach, it becomes more secluded. The crowds thin out, groups and families give way to couples and for those that prefer pure peace and quiet, it's a godsend.
Although some of the bars do play music, the volume is very understated and the sound does not carry over to the blissful relaxation of the beach and the sublime sound of the waves lapping onto the shore. Perfect for chilling after a brilliant (but possibly exhausting) night out!
The gastronomic delights of one of Spotlight's favourite Ibiza restaurants, Sa Punta are but a short walk away and the unspeakably lush Destino Pacha resort is just around the corner.
It's a beach to be seen on and has perhaps more than its fair share of the beautiful people. We say go take a look (in your most fashionable swimwear, of course)!
If this sounds like your kind of Ibiza beach, then you can find some fab nearby hotels here. Or check out the super luxury Villa Ibiza Town (Ref. 001) which you can see on the photo below.
Top tip: most of the club PRs visit Talamanca everyday and are a great source of info on what's going on that night. They often have freebies (badges, tee-shirts etc) to give away too if you ask them nicely...
