Defected, as both a label and series of events both in Ibiza and internationally, is at the forefront of the battle to keep House music as a dominant genre. They've been at it for over 10 years now and they know what they're doing - there's some nice surprises on the lineup whilst of course many of the Defected old guard are back.
You've got the likes of French legend Bob Sinclar, Junior Jack & Kid Creme, Sandy Rivera, Dimitri of Paris, David Morales and The Shapeshifters who all represent all that Defected stands for; "House music is the soundtrack to the more deviant, exciting rebellious side of life" (Steve Lawler), and few people embody that more than Bob Sinclar. You only have to take a quick glance at the various posters and billboards he's been on over the years to work that one out.
In addition to these household Defected names, we have some cool appearances from disco lover Aeroplane (remember his set for the 500th Radio 1 Essential Mix?) for 2 dates, the first being on 9th June, Simon Dunmore (only the founder of Defected!) for the opening on the 26th May, Sandy Rivera and Chocolate "I Wanna Be You" Puma on 16th June, and Dennis Ferrer drops in for a couple of dates - and rightly so too as a proper House music head. The closing ooks set to be an amazing party, with motor city legends Inner City performing Live! Amazing. You'll know these guys from some track called "Good Life"... good vibes!
Again, as with all the parties at Pacha from this seaosn onwards, the DJs can choose between the original DJ booth and the newly installed hydraulic one above to the left of the main stairs, along with improvements to the Gobal Room and a vastly improved soundsystem. House music Saturday's at Pacha are looking very tasty indeed.
