This season House Hero Mark Knight takes residency at BE, filling some seriously over-sized shoes with past residents including Guy Gerber, Chris Liebing and the venerable Danny Tenaglia. Manning the fort last year was none other than the King of Trance himself – Armin Van Buuren - and the powerhouse brand that is A State Of Trance. Armin has now taken ASOT to Privilege and it's safe to say Knight probably won't be whipping out the Jesus-holding-headphones poses like our boy Buuren... but as Father to the game-changer label Toolroom Records (which at one point last year was the highest selling label on Beatport) and the famous Toolroom Knights events, we can all rest assured our mid-week disco is in capable hands.
Toolroom regulars Funkagenda, Umek and D Ramirez will be joining Mark Knight multiple times during the BE pres. Toolroom Knights season, the sound swinging away from trance and planting itself somewhere in the fertile grey area that is house, tech house and techno. Expect anything, however, with guest spots from Kaskade, Kelis, John Dahlback and the deliciously unpredictable Green Velvet. Sander van Doorn is also frequenting BE events this season, flying the flag for the trance addicts suffering from Armin withdrawals by weaving trance into his tech - as only he knows how.
Now in its fifth season, BE at Space has proven itself a force to be reckoned with on the island, having opened with a bang (and a Grandmaster Flash) on May 30th and now offering a quality line-up until October 3rd.
It's decided then - Space is the place to BE every Wednesday . . .
. . . And don't pretend you could have resisted the pun.
