ADE is gearing up for it's seventeenth edition, with the first names for the festival and conference program revealed.
Taking place from 17 to the 21 October, 2012, ADE is the leading electronic music platform and the biggest club festival in the world for the whole spectrum of electronic sub-genres and this year it's going to be bigger and better than ever with even more added to the day and night program. During the day ADE offers a wide selection of interactive workshops, mentoring sessions, technical demonstrations and in-depth round-table discussions, alongside a series of pop-up shops, musical/cross-cultural happenings and unique one-off events across the city. At night the music festival features more than 300 events over five days in 60 venues around the city. Each year, the ADE attracts over 3,000 business professionals and 140,000 festival visitors – including 30,000 tourists - from 62 countries.
FIRST FESTIVAL EVENTS REVEALED
ADE's 2012 Festival program is coming together with the first wave of events and artists revealed. They include the infamous Dave Clarke presents event at the Melkweg, guests include Green Velvet, DJ Sneak and Octave One. Dekmantel will be bringing artists from four labels that are all currently prominent players on the European techno scene, including Planetary Assault Systems aka Luke Slater (live), Sandwell District feat Regis & Function, James Rushkin, Donato Dozzy, Peter van Hoesen, Samuli Kemppi and Silent Servant. ALDA Events has just announced a stellar line-up featuring multiple events, with artists such as Sander van Doorn, Hardwell, Ryan Marciano & Sunnery James, plus an Armada Label Night. And last but certainly not least, Dutch illustrious techno event Awakanings will debut at ADE, presenting 3 spectacular events, including Carl Cox presents: Global 500, Adam Beyer presents: Drumcode and Richie Hawtin presents: Enter. NEW SPEAKERS ADDED TO CONFERENCE
New additions for ADE 2012's day program for the Felix Meritis and the Dylan Hotel include Carl Cox on Tapping Into The Power of Radio (and Beyond), Josh Wink in the Artist Debate together with Martyn, Adam Beyer a.o., ADE launching the first ever EDM Brands Comparison List, musicologist and blogger Wayne Marshall revealing the roots of the global influence of Dutch music, music supervisor Karyn Rachtman discussing how to play The Hollywood Film Game, and Ultra Records' Patrick Moxey on Publishers Acting Responsibly. ADE 2012 will also feature expanded versions of the ADE University (aimed at inspiring and educating students and young music industry professionals) and ADE Playground (showcasing technology and technological innovation), both of which were introduced in 2011 to widespread acclaim, as well as improvements and new developments for the Hard Dance Event (HDE), Music and Bits and ADE Next.
