The first of the Sankeys Ibiza residencies for 2017 has been revealed, and Unusual Suspects has snuck in there early to steal the title. With a summer opening party scheduled for Thursday 11 May, you'll then be at the mercy of a mammoth 21 weeks of minimal magic, with the party's run ending on 28 September.
At Unusual Suspects you can expect a Thursday night pounding of enticing house and techno courtesy of some of the finest talent in Europe. Last year saw Romanian renegade, Rhadoo, Brouqade Records boss, Dana Ruh, and Israeli tastemaker, Shlomi Aber, as regular participants, and while this year's line-up is still to come, you can expect more of the same this summer. Plus in addition, there'll be six special daytime parties at Benimussa Park (once a month), which means you can get a taste of all the action before heading to Sankeys to continue the party all night long.
Earlybird tickets are already on sale for a steal at 20 EUR, and if you buy now they're open date and can be used for any date at Sankeys or Benimussa Park. Sounds good to us.
Unusual Suspects cemented its name in Ibiza in winter 2015, when it ran regular parties at Sankeys for island-dwellers, and it's continued to keep the techno clock ticking throughout this winter too. Before the summer opening party in May, you still have three opportunities to get a feel for this party's vibe.
Head to Sankeys on Tuesday 28 February to catch the likes of Janina, Azimunte and Frederico Grazzini; on Thursday 23 March for Thomas Melchior, Dana Ruh and resident, Frank Storm; and finally on Saturday 15 April for a line-up that's still to be confirmed. Whatever way you look at it, the Basement's back and it's calling.
