Your Monday reading should now be synonymous with Ibiza Spotlight's weekly roundup which holds the key to your clubbing castle in 2016. Across the White Isle's vast land, where for six months we owe our pleasure to the sovereignty of dance music, the kings and queens are continuing to take their thrones. This week's banquet includes a feasting from Pacha, Amnesia, Cirque de la Nuit, Space, Ibiza Rocks and Ushuaïa. Get your bibs ready to wipe off the signs of a good feed.
Carl Cox adds more ammo to line-up
Carl Cox's final 15th year at Space is his longest season yet, and is continuing to shape up an absolute belter with another bag of names joining the already tasty bill.
Last week he added Loco Dice, Nicole Maudaber, Nic Fanciulli, Davide Squillace, Chris Liebing, Yousef, Cristian Varela, Eric Prydz who'll be performing under his techno alter ego Cirez D, Eats Everything, Julio Bashmore, Catz N' Dogz, Monika Kruse, Matthias Tanzmann, Heidi, B.Traits, Nina Kraviz, Kölsch, tINI and Hot Since 82.
We Are Rockstars line-up
Ibiza Rocks' descent into house, drum & bass, garage and grime kicks off on Friday 3rd June. Arriving by the poolside is DJ EZ, who'll be rallying birthday cheers for the residency's fifth anniversary on 15th July, bassline queen Hannah Wants, drum & bass wielders Sigma, master of reggae David Rodigan, Example and DJ Wire - who'll be back for three shows throughout 2016, Wilkinson, West London collective Kurupt FM and Wiley & Slimzee.
Pacha Insane residents
The Pacha party that champions a solid dose of music led madness added two residents to its billing last week. Hailing from Detroit and establishing himself as an Ibiza favourite is MK, who'll be introducing us to his record label and event brand Area10 for six dates throughout the season. It's his third consecutive year at the club and he'll be resuming with the Insane collective on 27th May alongside a ton of special guests. The last of the residents is another firm Ibiza favourite, Nic Fanciulli. He's landed five dates with his We Are The Night takeover, with the first onslaught booked in for Friday 3rd June. His guests remain shrouded in secrecy, but taking note of his Ibiza conquests over many years on the White Isle, you can guarantee that each of his five nights will be an unbeatable stampede through house and techno.
Cocoon opening party
Cocoon's 2016 season gets down to deadly techno business earlier than ever on Monday 30th May. Joining Sven Väth to light up the foray of the very best of techno on this date will be Dixon, Ilario Alicante, Gaiser (live) and finally, Slam. Complementing what will be a stellar round of sounds from the techno magicians will be visuals courtesy of Dub Video Connection.
Melon Bomb at Ushuaïa Beach Club opening
Playa d'en Bossa's luxury, day session leader has announced Melon Bomb as its hosts for the season teasing pre-opening on Saturday 30th April. It's a 12-hour session from midday to midnight with Melon Bomb - the brainchild of DJs Ben Santiago, Paul Reynolds, Juan Corbi and Scott Gray AKA Chapter. Ibiza regulars Mr Doris, DJ Callum and Lovely Laura will also be shining during this sunny, soulful Saturday parade. Your ears will be taken care of by the sounds of funk, soul, disco and house – music that feeds your souls. Entrance is completely free, so we expect everyone to be there to break free from their hibernation shackles.
Cirque de la Nuit joins Ibiza Rocks
It's the boat party that rules over the waves and leaves you knocking at the doors of your clubbing hotspot to continue the session. Cirque de la Nuit's packages are top-notch and this year we're getting more choice than ever with your tickets including the boat party, entry to ANY of Sankeys' seven nights, and now also a choice between Ibiza Rocks (Wednesday) or We Are Rockstars (Friday). It's undoubtedly a ridiculously good deal from the Cirque de la Nuit crew.
Elrow full Space takeover
Elrow is like a theatre for clubbers who want to roam through a party that's like a child's birthday celebration on steroids. We've stood in Space's main room, waiting for the net to fall before we can make a competitive dive for any inflatable prize, and for 2016 the Terraza will now also belong to the madness of elrow. The confetti, inflatables and beats will take over the whole of Space from 4th June with elrowcity being the key holder to Terraza's grounds for seven weeks. Every week a different DJ will be there to represent their hometown or place of residence, and the room will be appropriately decorated. So, stepping up to the booth will be Andrea Oliva representing Zurich, Eats Everything bigging up Bristol, Groove Armada loving London, Joris Voorn repping Amsterdam, Paco Osuna showcasing Barcelona, Richy Ahmed nailing Newcastle and Sasha showing off New York.
