Ibiza Soundtrack: June 2015

Dark and melodic techno dominates Ibiza this month as we chart the best tracks getting rinsed across the white isle.

Kink
'Cloud Generator'

Welcome to the world of Kink's Cloud Generator. Playful yet industrial, a dark computerized symphony that the Running Back label boss Gerd Janson describes aptly as “music for big rooms, wide eyes, and small brains”. This track has already premiered in Sankeys, Eden and Amnesia and we are sure it will make it to the summer anthems of 2015.

Guy Mantzur & Roy Rosenfeld
'Epika'

Crowds have gone wild for this Kompakt release produced by the Israeli duo Guy Mantzur & Roy Rosenfeld, a track that has already crossed the borders from the middle east to Berlin, Amsterdam and now recently Ibiza by the capable hands of Mano Le Tough at the Hyte opening in Amnesia. Dark and steady does the job.

Love Over Entropy
'Tonii' (Dixon retouch)

Dixon has clearly labored lovingly over this track by Love Over Entropy, enhancing its melancholic qualities, slowing it down, making it hauntingly beautiful. This has not gone unnoticed by the big players in the electronic music scene as it has been picked up not merely by Dixon's Innervisions gang, but the likes of Solomun and none other than Sven Väth.

Art Department
'Catch You By Surprise' (Guy Gerber rework)

Guy Gerber takes this track to the next level, bringing up the energy and turning it into a dance floor ready hit but preservig the hauntingly atmospheric vocals. Having already been featured at the opening of Elrow, as well as by Diynamic front man, Solomun, it's a sure bet that this Balearic bass driven edit will get you hooked.

Feder ft. Lyse
'Goodbye'

This track is driven by its strong instrumental flavours and the seductive vocals by Lyse, who narrates the tale of her breaking up with her man. This beat has been remixed by several big names on the island, but we heard that addictive off tempo beat first at the Beachouse.

Jaap Ligthart ft Alice Rose
'I Know Change'

Pure deep house complimented by the sultry voice of Alice Rose takes you on a journey through late nights and early mornings. Already played by the likes of Adriatique and Maceo Plex, this will be sure to fix itself in the list of summer (after-party) anthems.

Frankey & Sandrino
'Acamar'

This has also been running on rotation amongst those who like the deeper and darker side of tech house music. Acamar has been echoing around various club walls on the island, taking you on a jolting rollercoaster ride through the universe and back. We even have footage of people losing themselves to this one at DC10 by the hands of Adriatique.

Stephan Bodzin
'Singularity'

Speaking of DC10, we heard a great track laid down by Tale of Us at the opening party. Slow and heavy opening minutes, steadily gaining momentum to unleash as a dark yet hopeful musical epiphany to which Stephan Bodzin can be held accountable for.

Stephan Hinz
'Breakout'

Released on Drumcode records earlier this month, Stephan Hinz has produced a badass techno beat perfect for Ibiza's superclubs. Uner introduced us to this track at Ushuaïa Ants opening and I have been hearing it follow me ever since. Relentless in its ferocity and urgency, forcing you to dance.

The Chainsmokers
'Let You Go' (Great Good Fine remix)

This track is more of a summer's day feel-good track, perfect for those euphoric day parties, for cruising in the car, or the way we experienced it – in the main room of Pacha where Aoki was tearing it down, although slightly vamped with that Aoki magic, The Chainsmokers are on to something with this sure-to-be-a-hit summer track.
