EP review: Cristoph 'Consequence of Society'

This could be the year that shapes where Cristoph is heading.

Artist: Christoph
EP: Consequence of Sound Vol. 1
Label: Noir
Release date: 23/02/15

As years come, 2015 is going to be an important one for emerging DJ and producer Cristoph. With a modest collection of releases out and highly respected, he now releases a new EP, Consequence of Society Vol. 1 on creative and innovative label, Noir. Why so important then? Well, with expectations already high due to a string of quality tracks out, as well as being a relatively new DJ on the scene, this could be the year that shapes where Cristoph is heading. If this EP is anything to go by, the future is looking bright indeed.

The EP's overall dark and underground vibe is perfectly suited to dark, low-ceilinged clubs everywhere. Opener Reachin' is a more energetic number, complete with a repeating, raw lyric, upbeat tempo and a memorable electronic sound. The final tracks Nause and The Future are both incredibly techy, which is where this EP leads away from expectations and into a fresh and unique sound that separates average from exceptional.

This EP really demonstrates just how much Cristoph's sound has developed and is exciting for many reasons: it's early in his career, he's releasing on the right labels and showcasing his production talents... as long as this positive trend continues it would no surprise if Cristoph were to reach the heights that many are predicting him to.
