Marking the high point of the season, BBC Radio 1 are dominating two gigantic nights on Friday 1st of August and Saturday 2nd of August. Read on for the low-down on the biggest raving weekender of the summer including how to get involved if you've not got a ticket and a very special treat from the Radio 1 bigwigs!
FRIDAY AT USHUAÏA
The take-over begins at Ibiza's lavish outdoor venue Ushuaïa as the BBC army gear up for a one-off FREE event. On the bill this year are a dozen international chart toppers including Monsieur David Guetta, Duke Dumont and MK. Walking with Elephants has been one of this summer's soundtracks so it's no surprise Radio 1 exclusively welcome Ten Walls to the amphitheatre, their only slot all season. Going head to head in the Beach Hotel arena are Pete Tong and Hot Since 82 as well as B-Traits and Monki who will be treating the revellers to back to back DJ sets.
On Friday 25th July it was announced that tickets were only available online this year, unlike last summer's on-island wristband system. With a turn-out expected to hit the 7000 mark, the event sold-out rapidly. But before you cry in to your beach towels, don't worry; Nick Grimshaw is hosting the official warm-up party from 6pm GMT. Nice one, Grimmy! Broadcasting live on Radio 1 from a secret beach location, he's sure to get listeners eagerly anticipating the main fiesta which starts at 7pm GMT.

And that's not all folks…
After a raving weekend of merriment, mayhem and mischief Radio 1's Annie Mac is helping us wind down (and nurse those Sunday blues) with a special evening show to be broadcast from the island.
Can't wait until the kick-off on Friday? You don't have to! The nice guys at BBC Radio 1 have launched an online stream dedicated to dance music in the run up to the event. You can find R1 Dance Radio on the Radio 1 homepage so follow this link here: bbc.co.uk/radio1 running 24 hours a day, they've been giving the people what they want from Annie Mac's show last Friday (25th July) and will continue to do so until 6pm GMT on Friday 1 August. If you've been paying attention, you'll know that's when Radio 1 crosses live to Nick Grimshaw broadcasting from the beach. (Flip-flops optional.)
On the R1 Dance Radio Menu there's the cream of Essential Mixes and another chance to hear Radio 1 in Ibiza in 2013. They are also roping in pals of the station to star in some brand spanking new live shows, hooray! And with friends like Defected Records, Resident Advisor, Food Music, Hospital Records and a series of dance DJs who have BBC Introducing to thank for their success, its guaranteed to be more than just music to your ears.
