Preview: We Love... Closing Party, 29th September

Space's Sunday night faithful mark the end of their 15th year.

This coming Sunday, the 29th September, has the pleasure of holding the Closing Party for one of the island's dearest and longest running club nights, We Love. After celebrating their 15th year of consecutive party starting earlier this season the week-end marker has continued to provide a wealth of variety alongside a strong stack of resident regulars. Employing various labels and partners to host the Terraza or Salon has meant for rosters which are as constantly fresh as they are diverse. Skipping from darkly coarse British dub to electro fried splatter We Love has mixed scene giants and past masters with the cream of any imaginable genre.

The party line-up is typical of the micro-festival style bookings the island has come to expect. The Terraza is almost a very British affair: big beat pusher Fatboy Slim acts as a flourishing nod to the past and We Love's long running legacy. A DJ set from Groove Armada - who packed the secondary space earlier in the summer with a mix of classic tinged cuts - sits alongside flowering duo Bicep who have championed their own dynamic mix of tough genre skipping house.

In El Salon half of Scottish export Optimo in the form of J G Wilkes will provide a surely infectious digression through funk, soul and smile-inducing surprises. Optimo's own Sunday night venture of the same name is resident in the UK's surviving night club - Glasgow's basement bound Sub Club. The Discoteca is hosted by alpine outfit Snowbombing, who have garnered widespread praise for their commitment to bring dance to the unlikeliest of places. Blawan, merchant of menacing bass pinned techno and producer of the hideously delightful, 'Why They Hide The Bodies Under My Garage' shall no doubt present a block of tight, ravenous clangs. The perpetually enthused James Zabiela and his ever expanding spread of control surfaces fly the flag for electro-spruced fare. A live performance from New York's Travis Stewart aka Machinedrum brings a touch of real eclecticism. Having wandered through the deep pools of IDM and hip-op Stewart may tango with drum & bass or get caught up in jungle snares.
