Ibiza Shopaholics: It's Sales Time

There's a bonanza in store for shoppers in Ibiza.

There's a bonanza in store for shoppers in Ibiza if the promises of the island's shopkeepers are to be believed. The official start of the summer sales is tomorrow and prices cut by 40 to 50% are predicted by the shop owners to stimulate sales in a very slow season.

They say that this year's figures are around 10 to 15% down on last year's and that people are no longer 'compulsive' buyers, instead buying only what they need, not what they want.

Sounds just like what's happening in the rest of the world doesn't it? Maybe Ibiza shopkeepers could try being a little more proactive in their sales approach by stocking products which are different to the shop next door, clearly and competitively priced, in a size that fits would be customers and by opening when people are not at work. Closing for the weekend at 13.30 on a Saturday is just not good enough in the 21st Century.

It's no wonder that the transport companies on the island are pulled out delivering goods bought over the Internet, where you can buy what you want, when you want and at a reasonable price!
