Afterlife stacks the talent for its closing party

Thursday 3 October at Hï looks like this.

From the off, Afterlife's second season at Hï Ibiza carried on the success of the first with stellar line-ups week in, week out. Now the Thursday night party famed for its melodic techno soundtrack, has released full details of a bumper edition closing scheduled for 3 October.

Needless to say, Tale Of Us headline and will surely close the event to draw the 15-week residency to an end. Two acts who played big roles throughout that run - Maceo Plex and Stephan Bodzin (live) - both return.

Personally, we're thrilled to see Adriatique's name on the programme for The Theatre after our last experience. The Adrians have been a regular fixture at the party this year, following the release of debut album Nude on the label in 2018.

Tale Of Us' fellow Italians, Agents Of Time, complete the billing for the main room. The trio will play a DJ set, as opposed to their live show on 19 September.

Next door in the club room, things are set to be a bit more thumping. We're likely to find the trademark rattling sound of Berlin techno - as has come to be expected at Afterlife.

Three of the city's favourite sons - Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann and Rødhåd - return with their signature pummelling sound. Adopted Berliners and longtime Afterlife affiliates Mind Against join them as well as their fellow countrywomen Adiel.

For the first time, Afterlife also programmes the wild corner, the unisex toilet dance floor between both rooms. Previously unused for music on Thursdays, the closing will see Mathame touch down. Other acts playing include DJ MXD, Franchino and Lorenzo Senni (live).

In total, seven of the artists who played at the opening party on 27 June return for the closing, making this a symbolic denouement to Afterlife's 2019 campaign.

Roster aside, Afterlife's bespoke production will elevate the experience to another realm. The moving light fixtures, interactive visuals and other-worldly aesthetic make for a journey like no other.

With more names on the bill than usual, the venue will open at 22:00 for this closing - an hour earlier than usual.

Afterlife is certainly finishing strongly with a line-up that will appeal to most underground heads.

Until then, it has impressive dates in the build-up starting with Sven Väth guesting on 29 August. Amelie Lens, Joseph Capriati, Chris Liebing and Solomun all appear between now and then.
