Amongst the appeals of the Ibiza summer season are the endless parties that a clubbing holidaymaker can attend. In order to cater to its raving clientele, every year each club tries to outdo the other in a clubland showdown of monumental proportions
This ongoing competition leads to many new parties springing up across the island. Some strike gold and attain acclaimed status, becoming popular night-time destinations which dance music obsessives flock to year after year.
It is especially exciting prior to and during the summer to see the fresh faces set up shop on the White Isle. Here are just some selections of the latest additions to the Ibiza season programme.
Apollonia presents Planet Claire | Octan
First on our list sees a reworked club venture, which has a breath of new life for 2019. The underground haunt of Sankeys is now under new management and rebranded as Octan.
With a freshly painted look and very reasonable drinks prices, it sees the return of the Ibiza worker crowd to its neon-lit dance floors.
New club means new parties and Octan could not have organised a better one to start mid-season. The French DJing trio and island favourites, Apollonia take over the Lab room from Sunday 28 July until 29 September.
For the first four weeks, the Steve Lawler and the Warriors clan take over the basement. You can expect both rooms to be banging, save yourself one Apollonia presents Planet Claire Sunday session this summer.
The Masquerade | Pacha
Mysterious dancefloor mover and shaker, Claptone was bound to set up shop in Ibiza sooner or later. This enigmatic electronic master invites night-time pleasure seekers to join him at The Masquerade in the infinitely glamorous Pacha for an evening of musical delectation.
Within a ballroom meets circus-like setting, you can watch a whole heap of fantastic DJing talent, from star-studded club spinners to underground deck dons. Attendees are positively spoilt for choice as far as tunes are concerned.
Dance or Die | Ushuaïa
Provocatively named and fresh on the White Isle, the latest open-air offering from the lush venue of Ushuaïa is a no-nonsense dance floor affair. An afternoon inundated with underground beats under the sun is the perfect party combination, one that any discerning raver will enjoy.
DANCE OR DIE transforms the Playa d'en Bossa outdoor club into a neon-drenched playground with critically acclaimed producer Nic Fanciulli at the helm. Carl Cox, Dubfire, Black Coffee, Paco Osuna and Guy Gerber are just some of the high calibre acts who feature alongside.
BODYWORKS | Hï Ibiza
Over the road in the high tech super-club of Hï Ibiza, three tech giants unite for the BODYWORKS residency. Taking over Tuesday nights with loads of energy are Camelphat, Solardo and FISHER, each act supplying sonic samplings of their signature sounds.
In the Theatre, Camelphat plays out atmospheric progressive style house, generating many hands in the air moments. Supercharging this room even further, Solardo drop riddims from straight from their Solä label.
FISHER takes command of the Club room with bass infused beats, alongside a cool curated guest roster.
Brutal | Privilege
The world's largest night club teams up with the Latin vibes of Brutal to bring you the hottest acts every Saturday during the summer. Step into a steamy world of sensual music and fiery production, every beat drop making your heart race faster.
Internationally acclaimed artists such as Karol G, Atomic, Manuel Turizo, Farruko, Darrell & Farina and more feature on the Brutal roster. Expect to hear the hottest blend of reggaeton, trap and pumping urban jams at this excitement filled event.
Toolroom | Eden
Sundays are for family. This is the mantra of the Toolroom records clan who take up residence in the San Antonio superclub Eden. As one of the more affordable parties on the island, the event attracts everyone from summer Ibiza workers to sun-kissed holidaymakers.
As for the tunes, you will be spoilt to a sonic mix of house, techno and everything in-between. The line-ups reflect the Toolroom ethos of championing the rising stars, whilst also bringing big-name acts to the Ibiza clubland scene.
Toolroom has 15 plus years experience in the clubbing scene, so you know you'll be partying with the best in the business.
DJ EZ Eluzive Pool Party | Ibiza Rocks
A master behind the decks, the DJ wizard heads to the home of the pool party. Having wowed audiences for a number of years, DJ EZ takes on his very own residency at Ibiza Rocks.
Switching it up on the ones and twos, he provides a mix of classic anthems and banging hits consisting of UK garage, house and bassline.
Alongside DJ EZ, a whole heap of acclaimed club spinners join him poolside. Toddla T, Todd Edwards, DJ Target, Tough Love and Patrick Nazemi are just some of the names who will take up DJing duties, making Eluzive Pool Party one of the most exciting new parties of 2019.
Boom Boom Live | Es Paradis
Taking it back to the old school with throwback jams is Boom Boom Live at Es Paradis. This party will blast you to the past with a pop and house concoction spanning decades past. Filled to the brim with nostalgic and sing-a-long moments, you'll have heaps of carefree fun at this Thursday night event.
The amount of incredible acts and legendary artists you can catch at Boom Boom Live this summer is impressive. Robin S, Aswad, General Levy, Alison Limerick, Jazzie B and more take to the stage, belting out all the anthems that defined an era.
Who Cares? | Cova Santa
A unique party concept on this list, Who Cares? takes a laissez-faire approach to party curation and organisation. By not revealing the line-ups at all prior to the event, the prize of this show is in the musical surprise. You never quite know what you are going to get, adding to the excitement and mystery of the experience.
It recently kicked off at Cova Santa with Adam Port, Red Axes, Trikk and Sita Abellan providing the sonic waves. Combined with performances and installations by the Ethereal team, you expect to get swept up in the magic of this enigmatic event.
Maktub | HEART Ibiza
Following a one-off takeover last year, live instrument maestro Satori returns to HEART Ibiza with his very own residency. The combination of organic and electronic musical synergy is what makes this night really something sonically special, another unique aural experience.
Maktub leaps away from traditional clubbing to providing an immersive experience that combines cinematographic visuals and spellbinding entertainment. This party isn't just your average night out. It's a White Isle evening destination that will touch you deep within.
VGBDOS | Amnesia
Taking on Fridays at the iconic super-club is Chilean-Swiss DJ Luciano. Whilst Vagabundos is a known name with a heritage within Ibiza's club scene, rebranded VGBDOS is a different animal. Expect a high level of enjoyment at this vibrant event with colourful excitement entwined into its mantra.
Aside from the visual element, the season roster boasts a collection of high profile DJing dons. Claude VonStroke, tINI, Derrick May, Lee Burridge, ART DEPARTMENT and many more feature over this sizzling summer residency - definitely worth adding to your party bucket list.
