Things to do this month on Ibiza - December 2018

Our choice picks for the month brought to you with joy, good will and a big touch of seasonal love.

This month, there's a wealth of things to sink your teeth into with some great food events and live music. Plus you have parties to warm you up during the month and more importantly to take you into next year 2019. Make sure you see the turning on of Ibiza Town's Christmas lights from 18:30 in the main square of Vara de Rey on 30 November. 0 kilometres, 100% flavour

1-2 December

Local, healthy and sustainable food from land and sea at the Fira Sabors del Camp i de la Mar foodie show at Ibiza's convention centre promises lots of 0km tapas and food tastings of local artisan products. Try dishes with local produce and savour the flavours of Ibiza. There are talks from a range of speakers and you can learn about the island's food heritage. I'm hungry already.


Music, beer and food - yes please!

1-22 December

Yes, it's back. That weekend wonder Cañas'n'Roll is back and it's bigger and better than ever. Live rock bands, cheap beer and pincho deals, special €10 mains' dishes in the participating bars, a special swing music event and a concert with acclaimed American soul star Eli ”Paperboy” Reed. it's all taking place in and around San José from Cala de Bou to Cala Vadella. Rock up and rock on.


You gotta have Heart

5 and 21 December

Music and art combine in two events this month with the Heart Factory sessions, immersive experiences with different concepts each time. On the 5th it's Moon Harbour, with Matthias Tanzmann headlining, joined by DJs Timo Maas, Sven Tasnadii DEFEX of Zoo Project fame. Then, on the 21st it's Muse, where there's a back to back from some modern Gods of the decks, Lehar and Musumeci with sets from Adam Port and Phunkadelica too. Yes, winter is fun.


Food in trucks

9 December

Yes, that's right, the new Ibiza Food Truck Festival rides in with 15 different stalls serving food from all over the world at the Ibizkus winery, where you can enjoy one of its wines with a tapas for just €5. Entrance is completely free and there's live music too. All starts from midday. Go with empty bellies.


Take the kids to Pacha

9 December

Pacha con los Niños brings lots of fun things for kids to do. There are clowns, dancing and face painting and lots of surprises from 17:00. Plus there's a tombola with lots of prizes to give away and all money raised going to charity. Tickets available on the door for your little ones' first visit to a super-club.


Mind how you walk

11 December

Finding it hard to get into meditation? Do it as you walk. This month Walking Ibiza introduces new two-hour walks that add in mindfulness, with the first walk taking your from Las Salinas beach. You'll be led through meditations, focus on moments of silence and bring awareness to nature via the senses. A great way to de-stress and prepare yourself against the Christmas food and drink onslaught.


Beating fast

15 December

The delicious garlic sauce that everyone loves with bread is so much loved here that there's an Alioli Festival. Locals vie to win top prize for the the best alioli using just garlic, olive oil and salt. This pungent sauce is amazing with bread, meat, fish and vegetables too. Live music, food stalls and craft beer and children's activities make it a great day out.


Get ready for the next one

31 December

Partying when it's New Year's Eve on Ibiza has to be one for everyone's bucket list and clubbers won't be dissapointed, with a raft of parties on the eve of 2019, including Pacha and HEART Ibiza plus Nassau Beach Club and STK Ibiza have some great line-ups too. La Imprenta has something different with dinner and cabaret and then the next day it's Circoloco at DC10. Party on!
