The mystery is about to be revealed. After a winter without Pacha, the super-club finally releases the details of its refurbishment. To celebrate, it kicks off the season with six opening parties each featuring one all-night-long set by an electronic music titan.
Since opening in 1973, the Ibizan-style house that became Pacha had never undergone a remodelling of this magnitude. The reform, however, actually harks back to the structure's origin, bringing the original architecture to the fore.
Now the DJ booth takes centre stage in the middle of the dance floor, as has been the case with Solomun +1 on Sundays. Open spaces, Mediterranean elements, plant decoration and luminous colours will allow clubbers a fully-fledged experience of Pacha.
The first super-club of the island celebrates by throwing six mega-bashes on the first three weekends of May.
Kicking off the celebration, we have Labyrinth party-starter Hot Since 82 on Friday 4 May and Cocoon head honcho Sven Väth on Saturday 5 May.
The second weekend sees the multi-talented house master Seth Troxler on the decks on Friday 11 May. For Saturday 12 May we have none other than techno demigod Dixon, renowned for his arresting ability to move a dance floor.
Finally, concluding the mega-celebration, sonic chameleon Fat Boy Slim will be running the show on Friday 18 May. The final opening party goes to Solomun on Saturday 19 May, eight days ahead of the opening of the sixth season of his wildly successful Solomun +1.
To top it all off, all these parties are free for Ibiza residents (except for the Solomun one) before 2:30.
Yes, we agree. We can hardly wait either. Fortunately, the first date is only a week away.
If you're not a resident, worry not. Tickets are available below.
