All ghosts, witches and ghouls living on or planning to visit Ibiza this Halloween, pay mind. Here is your guide to the parties taking over the island on the spookiest night of the year.
Anyone who thinks that Ibiza shuts down after the superclubs close their doors clearly has not been on the island the second part of October. After a slew of beach club closings, the month ends with yet another blowout, this time in hair-raising fancy dress.
Islanders consider Halloween night to be the (un)official closing of the season. Residents and island aficionados come together once more to say one last adios to the summer wearing spine-chilling outfits. With over ten parties from which to choose, you are sure to find one that's just right for you.
You could hit one or, like many of us, select a few events and party-hop, obviously with a designated driver or taxi for the night. With less than one week to go until the freakiest night of the year, read on to decide where to go.
Boutique Hostal Salinas
For the most debauched of the Halloween parties, Ryan O Gorman and Boutique Hostal Salinas bring you Halloween 17 present The Psycho-Delic Circus. At what promises to be their most spectacular extravaganza to date, expect bearded ladies, killer clowns, animal trainers and a freak show that will scare the living daylights out of you. The party runs until the next day at 19:00 on 1 November, so get energised on whatever bloodsucking treat you like. While many go to it as an after-party, one can spend all 18 hours there.
Lamuella Halloween 2017
A brand new party at Lamuella restaurant, The Ghost Ship at Lamuella brings its imaginatively themed ghost ship evening with two dinner seatings at 20:00 and 22:00. You can also make an appointment to get some fearsomely ghoulish makeup for the evening. Expect a spooky extravaganza with top musicians, drag queens, singers and dancers plus top-name DJs including Doctor Feelgood. Dance with the devil in the pale moonlight at this arty dining location. The Brothers Grim Present The Haunted Hotel at Pikes
The idyllic Pikes transforms into The Haunted Hotel for this classic party. With a frighteningly wicked line-up and a ghastly cast of psychotic performers, this event is not for the fainthearted. The action runs from 21:00 to 6:00 with four suicidal sound systems covering the entirety of the hotel grounds. Unveil your most gruesome alter ego and head on over to this blood-curdling event. Artwork, Leon Vynehall, Bushwacka!, Blondewaringblack, Milou and many more will be providing the horror sounds. This is a ticket-only event. Get yours at Pikes reception until 30 October or online.
La Imprenta Restaurant
For dinner and an early party, head to La Imprenta Restaurant in Ibiza Town for a devilish feed. Chef Pablo Montoro is putting on a specially-themed menu of mystery and magic to delight your taste buds. See the restaurant transformed into a vampire mansion full of cobwebs and candles for a night full of surprises, not just culinary we are told. Halloween at HEART Ibiza
After their knockout debut Halloween party last year, HEART Ibiza returns for round two of this bewitching event. Cast your spell and head on over from 23:00 onwards. Get lost in the eerie market on the terrace or haunt the dancefloor with some of the hottest electronic music talent out there soundtracking your night, including the Berlin-resident Nico Stojan, the inimitable Oceanvs Orientalis, Hraach, Cris 44 and island-favourite Camillo. Last year's party caused a major roadblock with queues around the block, and this one promises to be just as huge. The party runs until at least 6:30. Get your tickets here.
Mischief Does Halloween at Atzaró
This year and for the first time, Agroturismo Atzaró is putting together a spooky carouse: Mischief Does Halloween at Atzaró, coming to you from the Mischiefmakers. Get ready for an impish one here. As the charming grounds turn deep, dark and frosty, you can 'Expect the Unexpected' at every corner. Miss Chief makeup artist, genuine mystical tarot readings, a river of blood, a dungeon, a dancefloor of doom and loads of surprises will make sure this is an extra naughty one. Entrance is by donation and includes a complimentary Skull-Dugery shot to get your blood flowing. This party is not suitable for children.
La Torre Embrujada at Hostal La Torre
One of the most picturesque venues on the island, Hostal La Torre transforms into La Torre Embrujada (The Haunted Tower) for Halloween. Enjoy their already delicious menu as it takes on a hellish twist and cocktails turn bloody. With one of the most spectacular sunset sea views on the island, the special menu runs all day and into the night. This event is free but to avoid disappointment, book your table in advance, unleash your monstrous side and venture into the haunted version of this seaside venue.
HardRockWeen at Hard Rock Hotel
To celebrate Halloween with the little ones, head on over to Hard Rock Hotel for HardRockWeen on Saturday 28 October between 11:00 and 18:00 for Trick or Treat. From 23:00 onward the party becomes for adults only as The Monster Ball Night. With free admission and parking, this two-part event brings you bouncy castles, face painting, water roller, eagle falconry and much more. This is the only party not on Halloween night itself. Halloween 2017 at Café Montesol
For the more cosmopolitan monsters and ogres among you, Café Montesol Ibiza presents Halloween 2017. With a theme-inspired menu and impeccable soundtrack, it is bound to deliver an eccentric take on the spookiest night of the year. Ibiza Underground x Halloween
After a massive closing party, Underground reopens for another night of pure madness. Known for their mad antics, the San Rafael nightclub turns gruesome from 23:00 to late. Prepare to see this haunt take a whole new face. DJs Don Juanito and Colin will be bringing you those chilling tunes throughout the witching hour. Entry is free until 1:30. Halloween at Eden
For the first time this year, Eden nightclub takes a sinister turn and throws a Halloween bash. Doubling up as a worker closing party, it brings eight hours of nonstop of harrowing partying with seven DJs: David Moreno, Francesco Monti, Nazt, K.Dluxe, Samuel R. Ibiza, Ismael Baraka and Natalie Mccarthy with a warm-up by Ibiza Blau Music students. Entry is free before 1:00 and the most frightening costumes will receive prizes. Head here for more info.
