Enjoy new harvest Ibizan olives in the many menus and tapas dishes on offer with Ibiza Sabor

Autumn is one of the most perfect times to eat out on Ibiza, with the milder weather perfect for dining al fresco, then discovering the countryside or walking on the beach. It is a time to enjoy both a slower pace of life and some culinary treasures.

You will be able sample some scrumptious dishes made using great 'zero kilometre' ingredients like the locally-grown almonds and carob, two ingredients which are emblematic of Ibiza. The event will also be an opportunity to try fish from Ibizan waters that bear the quality mark of Peix Nostrum.

There will be both traditional and more modern renderings of Ibizan dishes like sofrit pagès (meat stew), bullit de peix (fish stew) and flaó, the sweet tarte made with goats' cheese, mint and aniseed.

Tapas can be had in a number of well-known Ibizan establishments, including La Cava, Bar Anita and Café Montesol. A downloadable PDF with restaurant map has details on all venues, plus menus (in Catalan, English and Spanish).

Local olive oil or the delicious spicy sobrasada sausage are some of the must try food products both of which will add a distinct depth of flavour to the many different dishes on offer.

A tasting of the new season olive oil takes place at Trull de Sant Joan from 10:00 to 13:00 on 11 November, where you can taste the first oil of Ibiza's 2017 olive harvest. See the Ibiza Sabor website for booking details and more events.

For a food lovers fandango, head to Ibiza this autumn to feed the senses and your bellies.
