Since opening the newest Playa d'en Bossa superclub, the folks over at Ushuaïa Entertainment have made it their mission to ensure that Hï Ibiza brings something new and different to Ibiza. Part of ensuring this success starts with their residencies. Trance titan Armin van Buuren had the club packed on his first Wednesday night.

Armin kicked off the first of his 13 shows at Playa d'en Bossa's shiny new playhouse enlisting fellow trance DJs David Gravell, Ruben de Ronde and Rodg. The latter two, who went back-to-back, the Dutchman and his crew took attendees on a full speed journey at 138.

Armin's sets are always a spectacle. From the moment he went on his presence could be felt, as it demanded the attention of every clubber in the room. As Armin began his musical expedition with his own My Symphony, the LED lights on the rods that seemed to cage the heavyweight on stage illuminated the club. From there, we were off into a trance trek through space and time, with the chic club serving as our vessel.

For most of the night, Armin kept things at a steady level, keeping the trance going with tracks like Fatum's Draco and Orjan Nilsen's Iconic. However, the ASOT head was not scared to venture off into different worlds as he played some more progressive tracks like Morgan Page, Sultan + Ned Shepard, and BT's classic In The Air.

The crowd was loving every minute of it, with many of the attendees fixated on the vibrant visuals that continued to ebb and flow within each other all night long. As Armin's Caught In The Slipstream played towards the end of the night, fans could be heard singing along with each other throughout Hï's Theatre. The set was intensely spellbinding as an Armin set should be, and was a good indicator that trance fans should get excited to visit the White Isle.

In the Club room, fellow Dutch duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano held their half half of opening night with Sander van Doorn and Kryder. The duo created a nice change of pace from the trance going on in the Theatre as they played an invigorating set of tribal and hard hitting house tunes. Tracks like Franky Rizardo's remix of Marian Hill's Down had the club room bouncing till their legs couldn't dance no more.

For Hï Ibiza, it was another successful opening night, and one that showed that their future is looking as bright as ever. Trance lover or not, you will want to experience this night. With legends like Super8 & Tab, MarLo, Fedde Le Grand, Ørjan Nilsen and many others touching down throughout the season, you have every reason to do so.
