After last year's season and a massive closing party, the return of Dance 88/89 was an absolute must. Our wish has been granted. The Sankeys dance music tribute party confirmed its second season bringing us back to the second Summer of Love.
The original concept by Sankeys owner David Vincent struck a chord in the popular imagination and not surprisingly. The party nosedives clubbers into the legendary days that marked the emergence of acid house and Balearic beats.
On top of that, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the days when Paul Oakenfold, Danny Rampling and Nicky Holloway came to Ibiza and discovered the music at Amnesia listening to the legendary Alfredo. It does not get much better than celebrating with the original spirit that sparked the movement.
To experience it for yourself, head to Sankeys on Wednesdays. The season will run 16 weeks from 7 June to 20 September and ensures spanking tunes, class act DJs and an atmosphere like none other.
Celebrated iconic DJs will be in charge of the tunes that take us back in time. Rotating throughout the season we will see the Balearic godfather legendary Alfredo, Burning Man star Bushwacka!, Ibiza trouper Clara Da Costa, pioneer superstar DJ Danny Rampling, multi-awarded favourite Judge Jules, Hacienda frontrunner Graeme Park, the inspirational Grooverider, innovative house music force Mr C, original Summer of Love Nicky Holloway and many others yet to be announced.
Early bird tickets are on sale now, and that's not all. As a Spotlight exclusive, the first 89 tickets per event will be free*. Is there really a better time to start planning your summer parties?
