The clear beauty of Cala Bassa

Featured beach of the week.

Where and what?

One of the most popular beaches in the west of the island, that's like a big natural swimming pool with spectacular views of San Antonio Bay. Backed by pines and juniper trees, lined with beach club spots and supremely pretty, this is one beach you'll want to return to.

Why go?

Cala Bassa is one of the prettiest beaches on the island, with fine, golden sand and the water an incredible blue. This beach gets busy in summer, though that should not deter you from discovering its lovliness. If hell is other people for you, go in the months of early or late summer of try going in the morning, before everyone else gets there.

Things to do

A great place to relax and do, well nothing. the beach club has lots of eating and drinking options as well as VIP beds, if you want a treat. Watersports including jet skis, and stand up paddle (SUP) are on offer. Shade lovers can retreat to the trees behind the beach and cool off there before heading back to the sun. For us, simply swimming in this aquatic paradise is enough to make the heart sing.

How to get there

By car or or bus from San Antonio. Parking is available and payable, though spaces can be found on the road leading to the beach. Small ferry boats go here, again from San Antonio in the summer, taking just 15 minutes.
