Insider A - Z of Ibiza - K is for Kids

Playground island.

Ibiza - an adult playground! Disney Land for grown-ups! Is that really the case? OK - so it is designed to cater for the naughtiness of the clubbing crew, but you may be surprised to know that the island is surprisingly child friendly! The Spanish LOVE kids and there are many venues and activities that have the happiness of the younger generations fully in mind. So if you want to know where to take your little ones whilst you visit our magical white island, then here's a selection of some of our favourite spots.

Acrobosc

For the daredevil kids amongst us, Acrobosc is a real life adventure playground set in a beautiful pine wood near the popular resort of Es Canar. With rope swings, zip lines, nets and wooden platforms, there are a variety of courses suitable for kids from the age of 3 upwards. Safety of course comes first, with all harnesses and insurance included in the cost.

Insider Info - Some of the more complicated circuits are designed to be more attractive for the older generations, so don't be afraid to have a go too and indulge your inner ape.

Surf Lounge Ibiza

Ibiza isn't exactly synonymous with surfing and although a few die hard individuals have been spotted atop their boards in Aguas Blancas and Cala Nova's waiting patiently for a break, Ibiza's shorelines are more suitable for lounging and paddling. But fear ye not. In San Antonio, some clever folks have installed a surf simulator where you can go and pretend you're an extra from Point Break. You get an hour to either master the ‘Flowrider' or show off, depending on your level of expertise, and I can confirm that it is massive amount of fun.

Insider Info - The Surf Lounge is also home to a bar and some luxurious daybeds, so whilst your kids are getting all rad, you can treat yourself to a lovely snack and a cocktail. Cowabunga!

Aguamar

Ibiza's famous waterpark is situated behind the club Space's carpark and is a brilliant alternative to the beach for a family day out. With a fantastic choice of slides and rides designed to cater for all ages, Aguamar also has sun loungers, cafes and bars, making it a great place to spend the day. It also lies in the flight path near the airport, so you get airplanes flying overhead for an extra thrill!

Insider Info - Due to its close proximity to the legendary Space nightclub, there are tales written in folklore of DJs and staff spending the early hours of the morning climbing over walls and having a blast on Aguamar's exhilarating slides. Not sure if this is a true story, but I still like to imagine Carl Cox and Sasha bombing down the chutes with a hierbas in hand...

With the island offering so much to entertain the kids, I have actually struggled to pinpoint the best things to do! Ibiza Spotlight has a whole section dedicated to family fun, so I encourage you to check it out.

Next week, L is for Luxury. How the locals treat themselves as VIPS without spending a fortune...
