Pintxos win prizes in San Antonio

Tasty treats on a stick.

Starting this Thursday in San Antonio is the eight edition of “Pintxa Sant Antoni”, in which a total of 46 establishments will be offering pintxos, small skewered bites for a special price. The event runs until 24 March and for just €2.50 you get a pintxo plus a beer or wine. Gin and tonic lovers or those wanting something stronger pay just €4.50 for a strong drink plus a pintxo.

The event is designed to bring more customers to this pretty part of the island with its spectacular natural bay and gorgeous sunsets. To get the most out of the event, we suggest you visit as many places as you can take in a pintxo and a drink in each one to sample the variety and quality of what is on offer.

The town council has even put on a free transport to bus customers to and from participating venues out of the centre and in nearby Ses Païsses in the shape of the tourist train and a minibus. The bus runs from an Antonio's port between 8pm and 11pm and takes in a total of seven venues including Can Gust, El Arriate, Granja Costa, Centre Social Can Bonet, Toben and Trigo Trago.

Each venue will have a booklet with all the names of each venue and customers receive a stamp for their purchase, giving them the chance to win a t-shirt or get the chance to be a judge in a competition for the best pintxo place.

The remaining participating venues are: Ample 32, El Reencuentro, Hostal Marí, Liquid Purple, The Social, Bombadú, Es Mirai, Hostal Bar Marino, Mesón Abad, Tiburón, Café Bondi, Es Nautic, Hunza, Pizzería Geleón, Tuuana, Can Simón, Es Rebost de Can Prats, K Vida, Rita's Cantina, Villa Manchega, Chringuito des Port, Es Verro, Koppas, Sa Polar 1974,Villa Mercedes, Curry Club, Golden Buddha, La Cantina Portmany, S'Avaradero, Zebra, El Bistro de Stephan, Grill Sant Antoni, La Carlota and The Fish.
