Viva Tennis Ibiza - all year round

Tennis for everyone.

If you are on the hunt for something active to do on your break in Ibiza, you'll probably want to try out the revamped tennis club in San Antonio, Viva Tennis Ibiza. New owner Tom Wright has, since taking over the club this year, been making some great changes to the 30-year old club and the upgrades don't just stop at the courts.

The club boasts two clay courts and three all-weather artificial grass courts; all are softer than the usual concrete ones giving casual players and aficionados the chance for true low-impact play. New features include improved floodlights, now to tournament standard, as well as multi-lingual professional coaches to help you improve your game whatever level you are at. Then there's the new shaded cabañas on the court so you can cool off when the sun is at its most hot.

Another way to cool down is the nicely refurbished pool, with its mini waterfall to massage neck and back after an arduous game. The well-equipped renovated bar is another great way to unwind and now features a big screen to catch all kinds of sports matches, from tennis to football matches to the Rugby World Cup. The bathrooms have had a makeover too and there are new improvements still to come.

Tom tries hard to cater for all kinds of people wanting a game. If you are solo, he'll assess your abilities and find someone for you to play with who's at your level. This is great news if you're in a group of people and are the only one who wants to play. There's training for kids and more recently organised activity holiday groups, who have been signing up for a couple of hours of play per day during week-long activity breaks.

Viva Tennis Ibiza is open all year round and some of the best times to go are outside of the summer season in November, March and April, especially for training. Summer is great for a quick game before plunging into that pool. You can book a court or lessons and it's always best to book ahead online, plus you get a full refund if you cancel 24-hours ahead.

It's very accessible to get there, even from Ibiza Town or Santa Eulalia and of course from around the west of the island. Tom has worked hard to combine leisure with pleasure and we're sure you'll be pleasantly surprised at what a great job he's done with the place. Get your lessons or court booked now.
