We Love Space was the destination for us on Sunday 12 August, where Space was celebrating their 18th Birthday Party.
And what a party was in store – with a line-up including Groove Armada, James Zabiela, Nic Fanciulli, Jeff
Mills and Bob Sinclar it was promising to be one to remember.
Heading down in the early evening, shortly after 8pm, we were slightly anxious however – such a good line-up was going to attract a lot of clubbers and we just hoped it wouldn’t be too
busy.
After all, all we wanted was just enough room to throw a few shapes without throwing an elbow !
But we were pleasantly surprised upon arrival to see plenty of space in the new terrace, our surprise then delighted to delight when we got our hands on the schedule…
Groove Armada – in their second out of three appearances at We Love… this summer – were on relatively early at 11pm, sandwiched between Nic Fanciulli and Bob Sinclar.
Another Space favourite, James Zabiela, was inside the discoteca toward the end of Groove Armada’s set – everything was going to plan and there was already a great energy inside.
As a regular visitor to We Love Space, we’re always impressed with the friendliness of the crowd and tonight was no different - happy faces, big smiles and plenty of hand-shaking between
strangers brought together by the music.
It’s easy to make new friends at Space !
Needless to say, the music was fantastic. Following a driving tech-house set by Fanciulli were the solid Groove Armada, always a good bet in getting the dancefloor bouncing.
A short trip
to the main room inside and we were able to catch an hour of an amazing James Zabiela set.
Zabiela was well up for it this evening, bouncing around the decks like a man possessed.
Fortunately, he’s also able to knock out some terrific tunes and he was on fire tonight.
It wasn’t just the big artists that were on fire though, the music was excellent in every room - Reche playing deep house in the Premier Etage and Chew The Fat! dropping some breaks in the Red Box.
