A Colombian man was arrested en route to Ibiza for being in possession of 2.2 kilogrammes of cocaine. The sorry South American's method of smuggling the drug past the police plain clothes sniffer
dogs unfortunately didn't cut the mustard.
The drug was concealed in the back lights of his car in packets smeared in ever so strong mustard to try and put the dogs off the scent. However the dogs' sense of smell is so keen – as
mustard, in fact – that they had no trouble at all in locating the stash.
Police said that the dogs were also aided by the fact that the cocaine was some of the purest that they'd encountered for a long while – ie completely unadulterated by anyone's ashes –
and the simple 'drogatest' metre nearly blew up when applied to the haul!
The moral of the story seems to be save your mustard for your ham sandwiches.
