The loose collective of fashion designers in Ibiza known as Adlib is spreading its wings and exploring markets new. Let’s face it when you’ve been producing the same floaty white creations for over 20 years and every man, woman and child in Ibiza looks like the dream of Olwen it’s time to add to your marketing strategy!
With this in mind local fashionista Charo Ruiz spent two hours wittering on Japanese TV shopping channel ‘Shop Channel’ and managed to flog 1500 floaty white dresses to an eager audience. Over 200 flew off the shelves in the first 15 minutes and there was a danger that the entire stock would run out before the second programme scheduled for the following day had even started.
If the old adage that you reap what you sew is true, there’ll be a lot of sewing going on to clad Japan’s 127 million population in Ibiza’s famous Adlib style. Well done Charo.
