More Picasso in Ibiza

Ibiza is absolutely full of artistic goings on. Long a magnet for the arty bohemian set

Ibiza is absolutely full of artistic goings on. Long a magnet for the arty bohemian set, the island still retains its attraction for aesthetes as there are over 30 exhibitions of paintings, drawings, sculptures and photographs currently showing in its galleries, museums and bars.

Perhaps the biggest attraction of all is the display of Picasso's work at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Dalt Vila, which opened yesterday until the end of October. Two series of his drawings, produced when he was 80 years old, 'The Smokers' and 'Family Portraits' have been lent to the museum by the Fundación Bancaixa for public viewing.

Picasso's interest in smoking was legendary and he attributed his love for tobacco to his grandfather who gave the breathless, newborn baby Pablo the kiss of life whilst smoking a cigar. So, why not pop along to Dalt Vila to get an angle on Picasso's view of smoking and quite a few unusual places to put a cigarette!
