On the weekend when 733 commercial aircraft touched down on Ibiza airport's hot tarmac it has been announced that the island is the fifth most popular destination in Europe for private jets. The company NetJets offers its clients the use of its private jets for the princely sum of £79,000 for 25 hours and of course cuts out all that queuing waiting for airport buses and baggage.
The four destinations ahead of Ibiza for NetJets' moneyed clients are Nice, Porto Cervo in Sardinia, Cannes and Palma which give an indication of the place in the sophisticated holiday market that Ibiza occupies.
Strangely enough, the new popular destinations that package tour companies are saying are competition for Ibiza - Bulgaria, for example - don't appear on the millionaires' list.
