Just like all over the world there's a fashion in Ibiza for children's names which changes over time. Statistics have just been released for all the births in Spain which show the most popular names throughout the different regions and amongst the country's official languages.
Here in Ibiza the three top girl's names were; María, (surprise, surprise) Laura and Paula, while for boys Alejandro, Marc and Joan (the Catalan version of Juan) were top of the list.
Just compare these with the top choices in the Basque country with Iker, Jon and Unai the top boys' names and Ane, Leire, Irati, and Nerea for girls.
