Last week a joint operation between National Police and Guardia Civil smashed a drug smuggling gang who were using Ibiza as a base for their activities. The gang used high-powered semi-rigid Zodiac type boats with 3 engines of 300 HP each to make high-speed dashes between the mainland and the island.
To keep their activities more clandestine, the leader of the gang was reported to have been searching for a house with its own jetty with a budget of €1.5 million. His capture is much to the chagrin of local estate agents who now won't benefit from their 5% cut of the house price, a cool €75,000!
