Theme Park supported The Maccabees in June and returned for the closing party at Two Door Cinema Club's specific request. I bet nobody that saw them back then complained about it as they were really good!
Since then they've released the fantastic new single "Jamaica" (the second of their soon to be released debut album) which was played along their most popular songs like "Ghosts", "Milk", "Wax" or "Two hours". A wonderful young band with a great future!
The northern irish trio Two Door Cinema Club debuted in Ibiza this week. Alex, Sam and Kevin (plus touring drummer Benjamin) brought their brilliantly catchy songs with those sing-along choruses that made them famous (and that sometimes remind me of Keane)!
During the 80 minutes they were on stage, they played a good mix between their two albums, the acclaimed Tourist History and the recently released Beacon, including all the hits like "Undercover Martyn", "Something good can work", "What you know", "Come back home" or "I can talk", with "This is the life" as my favourite moment of the night. A good solid show with no artifices, just four musicians and some pretty amazing songs!
Colin Peters, nicely dressed as usual (this time with a sailor suit!), went behind the decks again to drop a few more tunes and at that point, as the lovely Nicola Bear had told me earlier on, when you realize it's nearing to the end it gets a bit emotional. As a random fact, "Everyday I love you less and less" by Kaiser Chiefs was the very last song of the season... probably my favourite band of the summer!
See you next year, Ibiza Rocks...
