Come Together, brainchild of Safehouse Management, debuted during the 2010 Ibiza season on Thursday nights in Space. The night offered something different, seeing the likes of Erol Alkan and Friendly Fires appear amongst many others.
Like any new project, lessons are learnt, and the night now moves to Friday nights at Space, and boasts an impressive lineup that pretty much caters for all genres of music.
The opening jumps right in at the deep end with a Faithless Sound System appearance in the discoteca, whilst the Terraza will satisfy those of you who enjoy a gentle skank to start the weekend off. It's a drum ‘n' bass heavy lineup, with season long resident El Hornet from Pendulum topping the bill, with support from none other than Sub Focus and Shy FX! If anything it's always interesting to see how the lovely Space dancers cope with such beats…
From there you have an absolute buffet of aural delights, from original Hip Hop Hipsters De La Soul and DJ Sneak on 15th July, a live and no doubt energetic performance from Pendulum and DJ set by Mark Ronson on the 22nd July, and a house music all night long Terraza session with Derrick Carter and Steve Lawler on the 29th July. And that's just the first month.
August is the month where the word ‘peak' gets shouted about a lot. Peak temperature. Peak season. And the lineups tend to peak as a result. This is certainly the case for Come Together as they work on a joint event for the Radio 1 Weekend in Ibiza. It's an absolute monster; with lots of the Radio 1 DJs (Zane, Annie, Heidi, Rob Da Bank etc), plenty of drum ‘n' bass, Magnetic Man LIVE, and a special appearance from Deadmau5. Best idea would be to get there for the start and stay till the end, cos you won't want to be missing any of that now will you.
Then we move into the final few weeks of the season where Come Together closes on the 16th September. But don't be disappointed, for in those few weeks you get Tinie Tempah, a massive live performance from Chase & Status, and to finish it all Magnetic Man enters the building no doubt attracting a massive crowd. Fantastic. We'll be seeing you there then?!
