Maceo Plex has made a swift grab for our attention today after divulging the first wave of guests joining him at his new Pacha residency in summer 2016. Taking the title Mosaic, it's the US DJ's first ever artist-led residency in Ibiza and since announcing that it'll be a platform to go against the grain by also booking artists who might not fit the typical Ibiza profile, we've been wracking our brains as to who he's reeling in.
The first batch of bait is proving very tempting for the techno lovers with appearances from Adam Beyer, Barnt, Radio Slave, Scuba, Paranoid London, Daniel Avery, Conforce, Matrixxman, Agents Of Time, Voiski, Len Faki and XDB. For dance trippers who get their aural kicks from deeper house and electronica, Maceo Plex has lined up John Talabot, Damian Lazarus, Bicep, Lord Of The Isles, Maya Janes Coles, Michael Mayer, Agoria, Steffi, Patrice Scott, Axel Boman, DJ Koze, DJ Tennis, Jennifer Cardini, Dekmantel Soundystem and Kölsch. Elsewhere, highlights include Pearson Sound and live sets from Gold Panda, Kiasmos and Fatima Yamaha. A selection of labels have also been handpicked to showcase their ammo, including Kompakt, Live at Robert Johnson and Permanent Vacation.
When Maceo first broke Balearic news banks with the Mosaic announcement, he said that his vision was for it to be a haven “where we can finally get loose”, and with a quick look at just some of his chosen ones, we reckon loose is a very fitting description indeed.
Every Tuesday from 24th May to 4th October. More acts to follow soon.
