One of the sunset strip's most iconic venues is coming of age and boy are they going to celebrate. Cafe Mambo is leaving its teenage years behind as the renowned restaurant, bar and all round night-life hotspot celebrates its 20th year on the island this summer. Since opening in 1994, it has built up a reputation among both tourists and locals alike as one of the best places to watch the sun set, with free gigs from some of the hottest DJs to grace the island.
"We can hardly believe it was twenty years ago when we first opened our doors. Sunset after sunset, year after year, we have shared great moments, have made great memories and have built friendships to last. What once started as a small sunset bar has grown to be a staple in the electronic music world. We are so proud to see our friends evolving in what is today one of the most exciting movements in the world! We wish to deeply thank everyone who has been part of our journey at Cafe Mambo. Never stop dreaming!" - Cafe Mambo owner Javier Anadon
Renowned for holding some of the best pre-parties Ibiza has to offer, the release of this year's line-up has confirmed that it looks set to be even better than ever. As well as both Amnesia and Pacha returning to give holiday makers a taste of some of their most legendary nights, Mambo themselves will be hosting their own events on Monday evenings to celebrate their 20th anniversary, with special guests to be announced throughout the summer.
From next week, Tuesdays on the promenade will be all about bass, with an assortment of underground heavy weights limbering up for their sets at Together at Amnesia, while Pacha will be taking us through the rest of the week with resident DJs and guests. Mid-week is set to be a busy one, with big player Steve Aoki kicking off his playhouse antics down on the strip on Wednesday evenings, followed by David Guetta with the warm up to his hugely popular F*** Me I'm Famous night on Thursdays.Pacha DJs will continue through the weekend, with Insane at Pacha taking over Fridays, Pure Pacha on Saturdays and bringing the week to a close with the return of Solomun +1 on Sundays.
As ever, Cafe Mambo will also see a whole host of guest DJs take to the decks throughout the summer months, and if last year's anything to go by - where we saw sets from the likes of Bob Sinclar, Tiesto and Fatboy Slim - Cafe Mambo definitely looks set to be the only place to be seen at dusk this summer.
