Ibiza's soon-to-open exclusive new five star hotel, the Ibiza Gran Hotel, will really be something special. Special because it will house a living art gallery in its public areas and suites. Only 5 other hotels in the world can be considered Art Hotels and there's only one other in all Spain.
The Gran Hotel sees itself as not only promoting but continuing Ibiza's tradition as an artists colony and cradle of creation. Throughout the building over 365 works of art can be found by 28 contemporary artists, not only from Ibiza, but all over the world.
Each of the Gran Hotel's five floors will have a different theme – Sea, Life, Earth, Air and Sky – under the general title 'Between Sea and Sky.'
In this lovely piece by Concha Romeu, an artist from Madrid, silks, linens and coloured cottons are used to produce the final dramatic effect.
