Keep On Dancing kicks off at Bora Bora

Beach party meets rave every Tuesday.

In previous years, Keep On Dancing has passed through some of the islands most famous venues. Pikes, HEART and Amnesia, to name a few, have each been subject to some pretty awesome line-ups via the party. This year, a special spot is reserved for it at the iconic Bora Bora Beach Club.

From 17:00 till late, every Tuesday, holidaymakers and islanders can enjoy some scorching house and techno at the beachfront location. Having never been to a Keep On Dancing event before, I had to check it out for myself from the opening party.

First things first, I must comment on the beach club's vibe. After years of watching viral videos of people dancing and having fun in the venue, you can imagine my excitement and the atmosphere certainly didn't let me down.

Like a smack in the face, Ibizan authenticity hit me right away. With the ocean just a few meters away and the tech-house beats rolling in nicely with the tide, I was reminded of how I always imagined Ibiza. Bliss.

After grabbing a drink I took time to appreciate the mix in culture and age. Unlike many of the parties I've been to recently, the range at Bora Bora was particularly potent and it made for a refreshing evening.

Musically the party delivered. From 17:00 to 19:30, Cyril Claudel warmed up with some groovy house numbers. Love Hotel by Regelbau urged me to dance and the tunes that followed only got better.

Though the music rang well, Keep On Dancing managed to integrate other forms of entertainment into their night at Bora Bora. Dancers, decor and market stalls each held a spot in the venue and led all the way through to Bora Bora's sister venue El Patio.

In this portion of the club, DJ Dave Lubin played some house and r&b classics to those browsing the stalls. Hippy markets eat your heart out.

By 19:30 Bas Ibellini, Tuskegee signed DJ and producer, took over the decks and saw us through to sundown. In a slightly heavier style, Ibellini chose a faster tempo and rightly so won over myself and the crowd.

Living up to its name, Keep On Dancing, succeeded in its mission to keep us on our feet.

Dancing both inside and out of Bora Bora's walls continued to the likes of Derrick L. Carter's Dreaming Again and Fever Rising (Original Mix) by Jay Tripwire.

Soon enough it was Bruno Curtis' turn to close the beach club with his track list. The Aukland-born DJ and producer discharged some hefty tech-house tunes like Gruv On (Original Mix) by Jose Ferrando. Check it out.

In true Keep On Dancing form, the party showed no signs of halting and continued in Bora Bora's original indoor club the “Secret Room.”

Ravers had the chance to catch Dan Ghenacia and Mayaan Nidam tear up the night in the semi-new addition to the club until 6:00. Sweet!
