After the success of last year, Stormzy is set for an even bigger 2017. Launching this year, his #MERKY Festival at Ibiza Rocks Hotel will feature the hottest urban music artists around.
The one-day multi-stage festival on 11 July will be hosted by DJ Julie Adenuga. Get ready for ten hours of daytime poolside sets, main stage festival performances and indoor hangouts by a mix of artists.
Besides the main man himself, fellow Londoner J Hus is onboard after his Top 20 hit Did You See and an upcomig highly anticipated debut album Common Sense. South London rapper Dave, one of the UK's brightest up and coming stars, will also appear.
In line with its ethos of promoting the freshest and best, #MERKY will also welcome BBC Sound of 2017 winner Ray BLK, the first unsigned artist to win the award. Directly from Birmingham, the artist responsible for putting grime on the city map Jaykae will be adding his powerful flow, authentic style and dynamic delivery to the one-off event.
Finally, North London's own MoStack will deliver good summertime vibes, as well as DJ, producer and broadcaster Kenny Allstar.
Proud of having given Stormzy his first gig in 2015 followed by Ibiza's first ever grime residency last year, Jordan Hallpike, the director of talent and programming of Ibiza Rocks, adds "This year we collectively wanted to provide a bigger platform to showcase the incredible talent in the grime community. It's not only the first festival concept for us but it's the first grime focused festival for Ibiza and something we're extremely excited to be working on with Stormzy."
Ibiza Rocks thus continues to provide emerging trends and breaking talent a platform on Ibiza.
