Ibiza Gay Pride
Now in its second year after a long absence, Ibiza Gay Pride runs from now until this Sunday 12 June where it culminates with a “rights” march which itself ends with glittering entertainment on the port stage. You'll see floats overflowing with drag queens, rainbow flags and of course glamour and sparkle from 6pm in Ibiza Town's port. Through the week, there are special club nights, exhibitions and more. The main gay street Calle de la Virgen will be extra animated. Check out the schedule for full details.
The big man is back…for now
Let's not dwell on the fact that it's Space's final year, instead let's celebrate the next few months of its standout line-ups. Starting with superstar DJ Carl Cox, who's back for his final run at the club from 14 June. Everyone's favourite face of techno will be launching his fifteenth and final season at the club in the main room, joined by Luciano and Cristian Varela. If there's one thing you should do this month or this year - it's this. Come and see the great man in action and pay homage to the final moments of a clubbing legacy.
Night into day
The night before San Juan's Day on 24 June is when celebrations begin for this saint's day. There will be events with bonfires and fireworks in San Juan itself, but also in Talamanca, San Antonio, Figueretas and others. You might see people walking over hot coals and fires, which is a way of purifying the soul. Then, much less challenging is the tradition of writing down three things you want on a scrap of paper and then throwing it into the fire. So, if you want your wishes to come true, get on down.
Back to basics at Cocoon
Going to Cocoon makes one hell of a Monday night. Pioneered by Sven Väth, this party is all about unparalleled, immersive techno and an unbeatable vibe. Väth himself will make a rare move to the main room alongside Mano Le Tough on 20 June, making way for Ricardo Villalobos and Sonja Moonear on the terrace. If you don't make this, be sure to lock in a date with Sven and co at some other point during the year - you won't regret it.
Music on the streets in San Carlos
This festival is a must see for great island music talent. The festival takes place on Sunday 19 June with 150 artists performing on one of the five stages spread throughout the village: you get everything from Bollywood dancers to double headed didgeridoos. This is Ibiza's way of celebrating World Music Day and it does so in an attitude-free and hugely welcoming way. Walk around the village and discover the great acts playing all over.
Art jam
The 19th of June is when The Art Club Ibiza showcases the island's visual artists' talents in the pretty village of Santa Gertrudis with an event called "La Luna Llena de Arte". This collective of residents uses this forum as a way of promoting varied works and every month until September, the event is repeated. There are works by Ibiza's best painters, sculptors and photographers, many of these whom come from all over the world, so you have a true world-class event.
Paradise says hello to summer
If Paradise means a spectacular line-up of top DJs, then you'll want to bag a one-way ticket there for the opening party on 22 June. Considered the island's hottest underground club, on this night it will play host to a range of the world's top DJ talent, including Jamie Jones, Dubfire and the Martinez Brothers. One of the island's most popular parties, this one's not to be missed.
