Let your eyes linger on the above roster. Enticing isn't it? Roughly half of these men and women have never played at a high profile Ibiza club before. Of course others, such as Crosstown Rebels label boss Damian Lazarus, have a record of mowing down rooms like mass murderers. Yes, that does mean good.

The strategy of putting novices in front of the growling mob that is Dc10's core audience is clearly risky. Somebody might get their feelings hurt. Lazarus himself admits to being "petrified" the first time he played at the Ibiza airport's close neighbour.

But new names increase the imortant musical credibility factor and Stink's nine party season is likely to yield good results for the promoters in the sharp-armed jostle that is the underground techno music scene.

The pointed competition has led some to point out techno ain't so underground these days. On the White Isle the funkier side of house has plenty of territory, but techno-oriented nights form roughly one third of Ibiza's typically kicking club events.

Two nights at Privilege (Meganite and off-shoot Spinclub), four and a half at Space (Carl Cox, Monza, La Comunidad, What's Up?, a significant proportion of the discoteca and terraza programs of We Love), one at Amnesia (Cocoon), none at Pacha or El Divino but all of Dc10's promoters - the mighty Circo Loco, Timo Maas and now Stink.

The last of these begins its debut season this Friday with Damian Lazarus, Michael Mayer and Dj Koze.
